Ground penetrating radar
GPR Survey
A non-destructive radar method that records subsurface reflections for interpretation, reported within the scope agreed for each site.
Overview
Ground penetrating radar sends electromagnetic pulses into the ground and records their reflections. The record is then interpreted, and what the survey can and cannot report on a given site is set out with the results — the method is non-intrusive, so no excavation is involved in the survey itself.
Applications
Non-metallic utility detection
PVC, PE and concrete lines invisible to electromagnetic locators.
Void & anomaly investigation
Subsurface cavities and disturbed ground under roads and slabs.
Concrete scanning
Rebar, conduits and embedments before coring or cutting.
Archaeological & environmental screening
Survey coverage of the area recorded before intrusive work.
SEC Capability
Antenna selection by target
Frequency chosen for the depth-resolution trade-off each task needs.
Calibrated interpretation
Radargrams interpreted against site conditions and verified where possible against known utilities.
