As-built reality
LiDAR & Reality Capture
Terrestrial laser scanning and 3D documentation that record existing structures and plants as they stand.
Service scope
- Terrestrial Laser Scanning
- 3D Documentation
Overview
Reality capture replaces assumptions about existing conditions with measured geometry. SEC scans structures, facilities and heritage assets into registered point clouds, then models what engineering teams need — from plant models for clash detection to deformation baselines.
Applications
Industrial plant documentation
As-built capture of piping, steel and equipment for revamp design.
Structural & architectural surveys
Elevations, sections and floor plans from point clouds.
Deformation baselines
Repeatable geometric records for comparison over time.
Heritage documentation
3D records of structures that cannot be rebuilt.
SEC Capability
Registered to survey control
Scans are tied to project control, so models sit in real coordinates.
Modelling structured by discipline
Outputs structured for the CAD/BIM environment that will consume them.
Technology
Terrestrial laser scanners
Survey-registered capture of complex geometry.
Point-cloud processing
Registration, cleaning and classification with documented QA.
Equipment
DJI
DJI Matrice 300 RTK
A UAV platform of the type used to carry survey and inspection payloads, within the scope agreed for the project.
DJI
DJI Zenmuse L2
A LiDAR payload flown on a UAV platform to record ground and surface geometry as point measurements.
Deliverables
- Registered point clouds
- As-built 3D models
- 2D drawings extracted from scans
- Scan registration and QA reports
