Principles
The differences
Positioning is a service line, not an assumption
SEC builds and operates continuously operating reference stations and delivers RTK corrections. Rovers, aircraft and machine control on a project can therefore be referenced to one datum where network coverage is available, instead of each crew standing up its own base.
One control framework across methods
Survey, UAV, laser scanning, utility detection, geotechnical and hydrographic work are separate disciplines here, but they register to the same control. Results from two methods on the same site can be read against each other without a reconciliation exercise first.
The deliverable is an engineering document
Field data is processed into drawings, models, GIS layers and reports in the formats the receiving engineers work in. Handing over a raw point cloud or a bag of coordinates moves the processing problem to the client.
Limits are stated, not left to inference
Detection and survey results are issued with the scope and limits of the campaign alongside them. On subsurface work in particular, what a survey did not cover is as operationally important as what it found.
